DHF'S ANNUAL GALA 2018 HELD AMIDST APPLAUSE FOR LAUDABLE ACHIEVEMENTS IN DIABETES CARE

LAHORE, APRIL 2018: Dilawar Hussain Foundation (DHF) recently held its engaging Annual Gala 2018 in The Ballroom of Hospitality Inn, which was attended by over 130 philanthropists, CCL and DHF employees and individuals from various walks of life.
“DHF continues to promote diabetes prevention and treatment by collaborating with the right partners and we thank all our donors who have helped us in keeping the cause alive. We will be setting up world-class diabetes management centers across Pakistan to facilitate prevention and cure of diabetes,” remarked Nadeem B.J. Sheikh, Chairperson of Dialwar Hussain Foundation in his inaugural address.
“There are currently over 199 million women living with diabetes and this total is projected to increase to 313 million by 2040. Diabetes is the 9th leading cause of death in women globally, causing 2.1 million deaths each year. As a result of socioeconomic conditions, girls and women with diabetes experience barriers in accessing cost-effective diabetes prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and care, particularly in developing countries,” remarked Dr. Ali Java, a former professor of Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, PIMS, Islamabad, who was the keynote speaker at the annual gala. Regarding DHF’s forthcoming diabetic management center he mentioned that there are almost 200,000 diabetic patients in Kasur. The keynote address was followed by a thought-provoking performance by the school children of DHF Primary School. Later Muhammad Jafri, Program Director of the foundation presented a note of thanks to the supporters. “Ladies and gentleman, we are thankful to you for gracing the event tonight. We extend our deep gratitude to our keynote speaker Dr Java, our donors, supporters and volunteers without whose valuable support we wouldn’t be here tonight,” added Jafri. His note was followed by a soulful Qawali performance by Naveed Hajveri. 592fc86d-21d1-4503-a722-1098f6788e7e 64079353-1f65-4d0c-a82c-8e24874a5bfb 5210f83c-f882-4ecb-85db-a22a5c5e91df 2589d2c5-a376-49b8-b9d5-2fc5093521c0 5d5a1bab-a628-4589-9860-d78c5458378e 695c8d5c-a5ec-4c37-b543-6b220d9b4ea5 44af5254-f48a-436f-8e22-823fc2c5c8c9 be2a4613-4893-4ec2-b741-920b870e0578 d1bdd963-e702-48bb-bfcf-60e4d13d9946
