CCL fetes global endocrinology leaders at SLENDO 2019

COLOMBO, AUGUST 2019: CCL, region’s leading pharmaceutical leader, hosted a sumptuous gala dinner for over 200 top endocrinologists who had gathered for the SLENDO Endocrinology Conference at the Galle Face Hotel in Sri Lanka. The highlights of the evening included traditional Kandyan dancers and lamp-lighting ceremony by the guests.

Atif Siddiqui, President International Operations greeted the guests and said, “We are grateful to all of you for being with us tonight. CCL has operations in over 14 countries across South Asia, South East Asia, Central Asia and Africa. We offer a vast range of products in major therapeutic categories. Strategic alliances and agreements with international and local companies have been forged to bring healthcare benefits to the global community to help them lead healthier, happier lives. Our expansion internationally has enabled the company to emerge as a leading player in the pharmaceutical industry,” he added.

The event was attended by around 150 leading specialists from more than 20 countries. The evening began with a drinks and canapés reception; guests were led into the hall by exotic and vibrantly dressed Kandyan dancers and traditional drummers.

A detailed Colombo Declaration 2019 – an initiative of SAFES supported by ISE & IDF was adopted in the welcome reception organized by CCL Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with Sri Lanka College of Endocrinology (SLCE).

SAFES President Dr. Noel Somasundaram shed light on what the Colombo Declaration is all about. “It aims to promote the concept of diabetes prevention at all levels, practice preventive strategies as an integral part of diabetes and endocrine care, prioritize prevention in public outreach and advocacy activities and partner with national and international societies to create curricula and publicize best practices,” he added.
