LAHORE, AUGUST 2019: The neuropsychiatry team of CCL recently launched a mental health awareness campaign coinciding with Pakistan’s Independence Day in a bid to stay true to our mission of enabling healthy and happy lives.
“We are running a Facebook page to create deeper awareness on the issue of health as a socially responsible organization as we have a high number of mentally disturbed patients in the country,” remarked Bilal Malik, Senior Product Manager CCL Pharmaceuticals. He mentioned that in a population of more than 200 million people depression prevalence is almost as high as 33%, as per a study of the Journal of Pakistan Psychiatric Society (JPPS).
According to World Health Organization (WHO), around 33 million patients suffer from depression globally. CCL has been trying to create deeper awareness around the issue of mental well-being through its social presence (https://www.facebook.com/letsfighttogetherccl/).
CCL recently produced a short film on mental health issues and prevalence of disease in Pakistan. The video was boosted on the page of let’s fight together and people appreciated CCL’s contribution towards a healthier society. Many patients approached the page and were referred to the psychiatry clinics. This digital initiative is meant only for awareness purpose and helping out community to seek psychiatric help.
