KIGALI, NOV. 2018: CCL has expanded its global footprint by launching its operation in Rwanda, one of the fastest growing economies in Central Africa. CCL is the first Pakistani pharmaceutical company to set foot in Rwanda.
In order to announce this CCL recently held a corporate launch event in the Kigali Serena Hotel, which was attended by more than 100 guests from various walks of life including Rwanda Health Insurers Association (RHIA), representatives of Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB), Rwanda Military Hospital and leading cardiologists, endocrinologists, pediatrician and leading pharmacists.
Dr. Ahsan Iqbal, Regional Manager Africa welcomed the guests and gave a brief introduction of CCL. Muhammad Abdullah, Product Manager Africa Region said that CCL’s product portfolio in Rwanda will be focused on SITA/SITAMet, Noclot-EA, Glimet, Orinase Met, Normopress and Cef-OD as CCL is the only company in Rwanda to bring these products for the first time.
The response from medical community was overwhelming especially by Dr. Damascene Kakambira – Head of Internal Medicine, University Teaching Hospital CHUK who stated that “I am very delighted and thankful as CCL brings latest treatment options for diabetes patients. SITA/SITAMet is the only sitagliptin that we have in Rwanda and it’s a great product as I have observed glycemic control achieved in my patients.”
Dr. Jospeh, Director Africa Healthcare said, “Thanks to CCL for this wonderful evening. The product portfolio which CCL has introduced is very useful for local communities and we will definitely prescribe CCL’s products.”
Dr. Nathan – Consultant Cardiologist King Faisal Hospital also graced the occasion. “We trust the quality of CCL’s products and will be supporting it. We welcome CCL to Rwanda.”
The participants gave recommendations and directed the RHIA officials to include CCL products in the medical insurance list to benefit the people of Rwanda. The event was signed off with best wishes from the medical community to CCL.
