BRIEF PRESCRIBING INFORMATION
COMPOSITION: Each 5ml contains: Chlorpheniramine Maleate 5mg, Aminophylline 32mg, Potassium Bicarbonate 0.1mg, Ammonium Chloride 25mg, Terpin hydrate 10mg, Menthol 1 mg, Potassium Guaiacol sulfonate 5mg, Potassium Citrate 0.1mg.
INDICATIONS: For all types of coughs and congestion.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to any ingredients of this product.
WARNING & PRECAUTIONS: Do not exceed the recommended dosage because nervousness, dizziness and excitability may occur. Chlorpheniramine Maleate may cause drowsiness. Avoid taking with alcoholic drinks or other sedatives. Ask the doctor before taking this medication if you have glaucoma or problems urinating due to enraged prostate. Caution is also advised in patients with liver or kidney disease.
May cause drowsiness hence caution is advised if driving or operating machinery.
PREGNANCY & LACTATION: This product should be used with caution in pregnancy, particularly during the third trimester. Chlorpheniramine Maleate may pass into breast milk. It should be avoided by breastfeeding mothers.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: The actions of Chlorpheniramine Maleate may be prolonged and intensified by the concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI’s). In case of Ammonium chloride, the urine acidification may increase the renal excretion of quinidine. The aminoglycosides and erythromycin are more effective in an alkaline medium; urine acidification may diminish these drugs effectiveness in treating bacterial urinary tract infections.
ADVERSE EFFECTS: Drowsiness, dry mouth, nervousness, dizziness, headache, alterations in blood pressure and heart rate and gastrointestinal distress.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
Adults: 1 to 2 teaspoonful. Children: 1/2 to teaspoonful. The dose to be mixed with equal amount of warm water and repeated 3 to 4 times a day, or according to the directions of Medical Practitioner.
INSTRUCTIONS: Protect from heat, sunlight & moisture. Do not refrigerate. Store below 30.
